Chicago, the new millenium......In the back room of the Gardner Bistro sits a man, fuelled by a deep rooted desire for revenge and justice. His name is Coluscha. Michael Coluscha, son of the Colusha mob Godfather. Next to him are Simon McClaren and Natasha Morland. The son and daughter of two of the most revered Button Men the Coluscha family ever had. Simon and Natasha want to turn the tables…….The Contract begins
The Contract on PlayStation® game console in Q4 1998 is an action movie-style adventure - the player takes the role of either Simon or Natasha. Simon is a cool, stealthy operator while Natasha has an aggressive violent need for revenge. Depending on the character you choose you'll follow a different game route and will be challenged to undertake the most difficult undercover operations.
Psygnosis has enlisted Andy McNab, author of Bravo Two Zero and Gulf War veteran, to advise the development team on missions, stealth tactics, moves and weapons and as a result the game offers all the suspense and thrills of an action movie while being as true to life as possible. There are over 50 forms of weapons and explosives at the player's disposal yet a sophisticated targeting and aiming system allows the player , with a gun in each hand, to selectively shoot mobsters while avoiding civilians
The action takes place in a cinematic atmosphere created through total real-time graphics. There are sixteen unique environments including: City Back Streets, Sewer Systems, Prisons, Naval Ships and 45 entirely different in-game character models which each have their own Artificial Intelligence. There is maximum character control - over 20 player moves made as realistic as possible. An original Acid Jazz/ 70's style music score adds to the atmosphere and switches pace depending on the action.
